Why train with us
-
Academic expertise in a private-practice setting. Our founder, Dr. Frenkel, combines decades of clinical experience with an academic background as former Voluntary Faculty at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. Fellows benefit from university-level training in a supportive community practice.
-
Cutting-edge technology and therapies. Fellows gain hands-on experience with advanced OCT, wide-field imaging, angiography, ultrasound, and visual field testing, while managing complex cases with the latest surgical and medical treatments.
-
High clinical volume and surgical exposure. Fellows see a wide variety of pathology: diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal detachments, and trauma for the retina track; advanced open-angle and angle-closure glaucoma, refractory glaucoma, and surgical techniques including MIGS and tube shunts for the glaucoma track. Surgical responsibility is progressively expanded under close faculty guidance.
-
Mentorship & professional growth. Training emphasizes comprehensive patient management, regular case review, journal club, and career development tailored to both academic and private practice goals. Fellows are encouraged to participate in research and quality-improvement projects.
-
Patient-first culture. Guided by our philosophy — “Your vision is our passion” — fellows learn to combine evidence-based medicine with compassionate communication and patient advocacy.
Both U.S. and international applicants may apply.
