Dr. Frenkel, founder of East Florida Eye Institute, has been a driving force in the Treasure Coast community since 1989, offering cutting-edge diagnostic and treatment services for various eye conditions, including Cataracts, Diabetic Retinopathy, Macular Degeneration, and Glaucoma. As a board-certified ophthalmologist by the American Board of Ophthalmology, Dr. Frenkel is dedicated to providing the highest quality care to his patients.

Previously a Professor of Ophthalmology on the Voluntary Faculty at the prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, Dr. Frenkel has received numerous accolades throughout his career. He is a recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award from the Kresge Eye Institute and has been consistently recognized as a Top Doctor by U.S. News and World Report and Castle Connolly. His commitment to excellence in eye care has also earned him the Achievement Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

 

Dr. Frenkel's exceptional educational background includes a Glaucoma Fellowship at Harvard Medical School, a Retina Fellowship at East Florida Eye Institute, a residency at Kresge Eye Institute, and an internship at Harvard Medical School. As an Elected Member of both the American Society of Retina Specialists and the American Glaucoma Society, Dr. Frenkel has made significant contributions to the field of ophthalmology.

 

An accomplished speaker and author, Dr. Frenkel has presented at over 100 medical meetings and published more than 80 peer-reviewed manuscripts and abstracts. As a Principal Investigator in over 90 clinical trials, he has played an instrumental role in bringing groundbreaking new treatments to patients in his areas of expertise.
